About

A small house, run properly

Seventeen rooms, a garden, off-street parking, and a front desk that answers.

The De Lambert lounge and reception, with the house sign in gold

De Lambert Guest House is a small, owner-run guest house of seventeen rooms — two singles and fifteen doubles — spread between the main house and the courtyard behind it. This website is the public face of the house: what the rooms are, what they cost, what breakfast looks like, and how to find us. Behind it runs the booking system the front desk actually works from, which keeps one calendar of room nights for the whole property.

That system is the reason you can book without being double-booked. Every reservation, from this website, a phone call at the desk, or a platform like Airbnb, Booking.com or Expedia, is written onto the same nights. Availability is then pushed back out to those channels, so a room sold here disappears there within minutes. Staff use the same system to check guests in and out, keep a record of who has stayed, and plan the shifts that cover the desk.

The guest house is for travellers who want somewhere straightforward and well kept — a good bed, a hot shower, coffee in the morning — and for people staying a week rather than a night. The system behind it is for the people who run the house: the owner, the manager and the reception team, who need to see the whole property at a glance rather than in three separate tabs.

De Lambert is built and maintained in-house. The family that owns the guest house also builds the tools it runs on, which is why the booking screens look and behave like the rest of the house: plain, quiet, and made to be used every day.
